A summer elopement in the Tetons feels like something out of a dream. And for Jordan and Wyatt, that dream came true beside the still waters of String Lake. With Grand Teton National Park as their backdrop, they exchanged vows surrounded by only their closest loved ones, including their sweet, barefoot baby boy. The result was a quiet, emotional, joy-filled celebration. Altogether, the day honored their love and marked new chapter they’re beginning together as a family.

Why Choose a Lakeside Elopement in Grand Teton?
There’s something truly peaceful about saying “I do” near the water, especially with the Tetons rising behind you. Lakes like String Lake, Jenny Lake, and Leigh Lake offer iconic views and mirror-like reflections. They are also places filled with a sense of timeless stillness, a perfect match for the intentional pace of elopement days.
These serene alpine lakes make Grand Teton National Park one of the best places to elope. This is especially true for couples who want a relaxed, natural setting for their wedding ceremony. With the right small dispersed ceremony permit, couples can elope at some of the most breathtaking and intimate ceremony spots in the West.

Jordan and Wyatt’s Grand Teton Love Story
Jordan and Wyatt planned their summer elopement at String Lake. They choose an early afternoon start to take advantage of the gentle light filtering through the clouds. Wyatt’s reaction during their first look was unforgettable! He took in every detail of Jordan’s bridal look with awe.
The ceremony was deeply personal. Wyatt and Jordan opted to bring along just a handful of guests—maid of honor, best man, an additional bridesmaid, officiant, and the couple’s son. All in all, it felt sacred, sweet, and simple. Their baby boy stole the show in a tiny tux and bare feet, reminding everyone that this was a family-centered celebration through and through.

A Calm, Intentional Wedding Day Flow
After their lakeside wedding ceremony, we took time for family portraits, candid laughter, and quiet moments. Some of my favorite frames show Jordan cradling her son or dancing in the meadow with Wyatt. As the day unfolded, soft overcast skies shifted to golden sunlight, giving us dreamy lighting throughout.
We strolled along the water’s edge and paused for portraits on a footbridge crossing the lake, which is just one of many subtle, scenic elopement locations Grand Teton has to offer. Later, we wandered into a wooded path filled with shadows and summer green. As a seasoned adventure elopement photographer, I knew to hang back and let the couple settle into the moment together. Then, we headed into the wildflower meadow while I continued to document the day.

The Best Spots for a Summer Elopement in the Tetons
Whether you’re dreaming of wide-open views or private corners for romantic portraits, the Tetons offer something for every couple.
Some of the best spots for lakeside elopements in the Grand Teton National Park are:
- String Lake – Peaceful, shallow waters with reflections and nearby trails.
- Leigh Lake – A bit more remote and serene, accessible by canoe or trail.
- Jenny Lake Overlook – Panoramic views of Grand Teton and Jackson Hole.
- Taggart Lake – A short hike with alpine lake views, perfect for adventure elopements.
If you book one of my elopement packages at any of these locations, you won’t be disappointed. Each of these spots are the perfect background for your personal touches—from florals and custom attire to bringing along a child or pet. Because after all, the best elopement photography is the kind that captures real connection.

Summer Elopement in the Tetons: A Cinematic Mood
Everything about this day felt intentional. The moody tones of the forest. The way Jordan and Wyatt paused to soak in the scenery. Most especially, the quiet joy of holding their child as husband and wife. From the reflections on the lake to the wildflowers brushing against Jordan’s gown, every moment spoke to their unique love story.
Finally, as we wrapped the evening, the golden light returned one last time. It was fleeting, but full of beauty—exactly like so many moments in life and marriage.
