An Intimate Wedding in the Grand Tetons | Summer Wildflowers

There’s something especially magical about an intimate wedding in the Grand Tetons. When you strip away the excess and focus on what matters most—connection, beauty, and presence—what remains is timeless. For Olivia and Justin, their wedding day was just that. Altogether, this day turned out to be a perfect summer celebration surrounded by wildflowers, sunlight, and the people they love most.

Slow, Sweet Getting Ready Moments

The day began quietly in a light-filled vacation rental nestled near Jackson Hole. Olivia, her mom, and her sister moved through the morning with ease, savoring these early moments together. The home’s mid-century design and natural light also created a dreamy setting for detail photos that captured the tone of the day.

Olivia’s bridal details were a beautiful mix of Western charm and modern elegance. She chose soft wildflowers for her bouquet, a pearl-studded “Bride” hat, and also included the perfect something blue: her cowboy boots. She wore a flowing Greek-goddess-style gown from Hera Couture and paired it with a dramatic lace-edged veil. As her mom helped her into the dress, you could feel the weight of love and pride in every gesture.

Intimate Wedding in the Grand Tetons First Look + Private Vows

Out in the wildflower-filled fields beneath the Teton Range, Olivia and Justin shared their first look. The moment was full of joy—big smiles, sweet tears, and gentle wind tugging at Olivia’s veil. All in all, these are the kinds of memories I live for: unscripted, deeply felt, and full of natural movement.

Just a short walk away, surrounded by pale purple blooms and whispering trees, the couple exchanged private vows. This sacred pause in the day gave them space to truly connect. With no pressure or audience, just the hum of nature around them, they made promises meant only for each other.

A Ceremony Framed by the Teton Range

Soon after, a small group of family and friends gathered for the official wedding ceremony at Glacier View Turnout. While this spot is not always my favorite for a ceremony site, it offered sweeping mountain views that made for a stunning backdrop. As Olivia walked toward Justin, live string music provided a soundtrack for the moment, and the sun cast a golden glow over everything.

The intimacy of the gathering made every moment feel especially personal. From their loving glances to the joyful laughter of their guests, it was clear this wedding was centered on deep connection and joy.

Exploring the Park for Wedding Portraits

Then, after the ceremony, we explored more of Grand Teton National Park for wedding portraits. These post-ceremony moments are always some of my favorites. We wandered through grassy fields, along the trails, and beside quiet water—chasing light and movement as the day unfolded.

One of the most romantic touches? Playing with Olivia’s veil as the wind caught it just right. I also had fun letting it drape around the couple for portraits as the sun lit them with a beautiful natural glow.

The Teton Range’s iconic peaks simultaneously added drama to these wedding photos and offered a powerful contrast to the organic tenderness of their interactions. Altogether, it was a true reflection of what I love most about intimate weddings in wild places. The grandeur of nature holds space for the quiet moments between two people in love.

Golden Hour, Cake, and a Jackson Hole Celebration

Then, as the sun dipped lower, we stopped for a few final portraits at Mormon Row. The couple’s easy chemistry made every frame feel cinematic and personal.

Finally, we headed off to Gather in Jackson Hole for a cozy dinner with their guests. The celebration was relaxed and joyful—good food, heartfelt toasts, and cake shared among the people who mean the most.

As the final light faded, we took a short walk through the streets of Jackson Hole for twilight portraits. They paused beneath the famous Elk Antler Arch, soaking in the beauty of the day and the beginning of their life together.

Planning an Intimate Wedding in the Grand Tetons

Are you dreaming of your own intimate wedding in the Grand Tetons? If so, I’d love to help you bring it to life. Here are a few things to keep in mind as you plan:

  • Work with a local photographer who knows the area and can help you create a seamless timeline. I always build a custom schedule that includes meaningful stops and (most importantly) leaves room for spontaneous moments.
  • Apply for a special use permit through Grand Teton National Park if your ceremony or portraits will take place within the park.
  • Find nearby lodging that suits your style—there are beautiful hotels, private cabins, and mid-century Airbnbs throughout Jackson Hole.
  • Hire a local florist! I particularly recommend Linden Lane for bouquets and boutonnieres that capture the spirit of the season.
  • Choose a reception plan that matches your vibe. Head into town like Olivia and Justin did. Alternatively, you could plan a private picnic in the park. Or, best of all, work with a planner to elevate a simple Grand Teton National Park picnic into something special.

There are so many gorgeous parts of the park to explore, and I’d be honored to help you plan a day that feels uniquely you.
