A Wyoming Wedding Tree elopement is the perfect way to say “I do” surrounded by breathtaking scenery, intentional moments, and the people you love most. Meagan and Andrew chose this iconic location just outside of Jackson Hole for their intimate wedding, and the results were nothing short of magical. With a clear sky above, wildflowers in bloom, and the Grand Teton mountain range standing tall in the distance, their wedding day was the ideal mix of adventure and elegance.

Why Choose a Wyoming Wedding Tree Elopement?
Located in the Bridger-Teton National Forest, the Wedding Tree offers a sweeping view of the Teton Range and is one of the most beloved elopement locations in Wyoming. For couples dreaming of a unique outdoor wedding, it doesn’t get much better than this. The tree itself stands alone on a hillside, framed by dried grass and wild flora, with an unobstructed view of the mountains.
This spot is perfect for an adventurous yet intimate ceremony. And while it’s outside of Grand Teton National Park, it still captures all the beauty and grandeur of the region. If you’re planning a Jackson Wyoming micro wedding, this is a location worth considering.

A Picture-Perfect Wedding Day
Although the forecast called for cold and rain, Meagan and Andrew were met with sunshine and warmth on their big day. It felt like the universe was celebrating right alongside them. After getting ready, Meagan’s father walked her to the wedding tree, carefully arranging her lace-trimmed veil at the ceremony site.
The ceremony was personal, emotional, and set against the epic backdrop of the Teton Range. With just their closest family present, Meagan and Andrew exchanged vows, shared a kiss, and then toasted with champagne under the tree—a simple but meaningful way to begin their marriage.

Bridal Portraits with the Tetons
After the ceremony, we took some time for bridal photographs in the surrounding area. With the Grand Tetons in the background and open fields all around, each moment felt effortlessly cinematic. Meagan’s timeless strapless wedding dress and veil added a delicate, romantic touch to the editorial shots we captured.
We also created a few artistic portraits using Meagan’s veil as a natural frame for her and Andrew. Her trust in the creative process made space for some truly special images.

How to Access the Wedding Tree
The Wedding Tree is accessible via Gros Ventre Road and sits just outside of Kelly, Wyoming. From Jackson Hole, it’s about a 40 to 45-minute drive. If you’re planning to elope here, you’ll want to account for travel time, parking, and the short five-minute walk to the ceremony site.
While it’s a public location, weddings and commitment ceremonies require prior approval and a signed operating plan. There’s an application fee involved, and the permit process must be started at least 30 days in advance. You can find all the details on The Wedding Tree reservation page.

Planning a Wyoming Wedding Tree Elopement
If you’re considering a Wyoming Wedding Tree elopement, keep in mind the season. The best time to plan your ceremony is between May and September, when the weather is mild, the flowers are blooming, and the scenery is at its most vibrant. During this time, the natural beauty of the area adds so much texture and color to your photos.
Also, don’t forget your marriage license! Wyoming requires you to apply in person at a county clerk’s office. While you’re at it, you can also inquire about any other documents you’ll need for your ceremony.

Capturing the Details
Meagan and Andrew put so much thought into every element of their day. I loved photographing their rings, vow books, and other accessories in a creative flat lay. The dried grass surrounding the wedding tree made the perfect neutral backdrop.
We also included some of the location’s beautiful scenery in their couples portraits—the mix of textures, tones, and light made it easy to get inspired.
